Summer Reading Programs

So far there has been a great turn out for the Summer Reading Program at our library. To date we have a total of 26 children signed up, each receiving their booklet to record the books they are reading over the summer plus they all were able to pick out a toy from the Treasure Chest.
This summer we decided to add a little extra to the program and invited people in the community to share their travel experiences. We've had June Wyard-Scott talk about her trip to Brazil then that afternoon it was all about making carnival masks. Our second week FCSS employee Dana Fowler shared her experiences of her travels to Scotland which followed with a rock painting craft. Week three the library had quest speakers who spoke about New Dehli. That afternoon everyone gathered around the tables to make their own piñatas. We are wrapping up July with June Wyard-Scott coming back with her pictures on China with the afternoon craft at 1:30p.m. Special thanks to the FCSS "Kid's Make a Difference" program and the summer students for making our summer at the library such a memorable experience. We invite everyone to watch our website for additional programs that are being planned for the library.
