It's Lawn Care Season

May 4 2020

With the warming of the weather comes the cutting of the grass, trimming of the hedges, and even hard pruning of the trees.

It is this time of year that many people have forgotten they didn't tune up their mowers or weed eaters the previous fall. And given the summer and fall of 2019, who had time with all the other things that needed to be done between rainy days?

While some of you may prefer to leave the lawn care equipment maintenance and repair to the professionals, there's no harm in fixing it yourself. If you want to give it a shot, take advantage of the Small Engine Repair Reference Center. This can be accessed via the eServices link on the home page of your library's website. (If you don't have a library card, a temporary one will be issued to you for electronic resources. You can get one by clicking on the link at the top of the eResources page at

To get to the Small Engine Repair Reference Center, hover on the eServices link in the top right corner of the home page. You should get a drop-down menu, which will give you the option of More Patron Resources. Click on it, then scroll down the page until you get to the Small Engine Repair icon. Once in the Small Engine Repair Reference Center choose Outdoor Power Equipment, which will take you to the lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other lawn care equipment.

When you've fixed your lawnmower and mowed your lawn, don't forget to have some fun-time as well. Go back into the reference center and get those boats and motorcycles tuned up too. :)
